National Groundhog Day this year might feel a bit too close to home. With lockdown and working from home stretching ahead of us the days feel like they're rolling into one. While some people have really taken to working from home, others are missing the structure and social aspect of office life.
Here are a few tips to make working from home a bit more enjoyable!
1: Make the most of your workspace.
You'll be spending a lot of time at your home workspace so make sure it is inviting. Put a plant or some flowers in your home office or make sure you can see out of the window. Even something small like buying yourself a new pen will brighten your day.
2. The sound of music.
While the peace and quiet of working from home can suit some of us, for a lot the sound of silence can be deafening. Listening to the radio or your favourite playlist can really help your concentration levels. One added benefit is there is no-one to moan about your music choice!
3. Feed the soul.
Just because you're working from home doesn't mean you can't treat yourself to some of your favourites. While you might not be able to nip out to your usual lunch haunts you can still stock up your fridge. Be it a fancy coffee or a naughty treat, you deserve it!
4. Keep moving.
In a normal office working day you wouldn't sit at your desk for 7 hours without moving, so don't do that at home either. Get up, walk round the house or garden, move from room to room, or even practise some stretches. This will all help to keep the creative juices flowing!
These are just a few ideas to help keep the Groundhog at bay during these remote working times.
